â- Former departmental faculty members passed away recently:
â-ª Lee Carrick, Ph.D., 74, retired professor of Immunology and Microbiology at Wayne State University, died May 7, 2018 in Sarasota Florida where he resided with his wife of 51 years, Katherine Carrick. He enjoyed his research and student teaching. A private memorial will be held in Michigan at a later date.
â-ª Ray Kent Brown, Jr., M.D., Ph.D., died peacefully on June 1, 2018 at the age of 94. Former chairman of Biochemistry at Wayne State University School of Medicine, he served from 1963 to 1987. He especially enjoyed teaching medical and graduate students. He retired as Professor Emeritus in 1996. A Memorial Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 11 AM, with gathering beginning at 10:40 AM. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to a University of your choice.
