â- Please welcome Melissa Bukowski to the Department, where she will be working as a Research Assistant in Dr. Eric Sebzda's laboratory. Melissa earned her B.S. in Biochemistry at Oakland University and more recently obtained a M.S. in Physiology from Wayne State University. We are happy to have Melissa join our department. When you get a chance stop by lab 8252 Scott Hall to say hi and introduce yourself.

â- For those who are participating in the MD Labs teaching program, the 2018 MD Labs teaching luncheon will be held on Wed., July 11th, 11:30am in room 7370 Scott Hall. Your course teaching packets and lab assignments will be given out at this time. Don't forget to complete and return your menu choice sent to you by email.

â-ª Our departmental retreat will be held this year on Friday, September 28th, 8-5pm, Mazurek, Rms. 306, 307, 308.
â-ª Dr. Bruce Beutler, recipient of the 2011 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine has accepted our students' invitation to provide the 23rd Aline U. and James M. Orten Lecture on Wednesday, October 10th. Dr. Beutler is a Professor and Director of the Center for the Genetics of Host Defense at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
