â- The IM graduate program handbooks have been updated and added to our website.
â- Scheduling of our BMI Seminars for the next academic year 2018-2019 has started. If you have a speaker you would like to invite, contact Dr. Bharati Mitra bmitra@med.wayne.edu.
â- The BMI faculty has been requested to send their updated information for the BMI website to Kayla Gilmore (kgilmore@med.wayne.edu).

â- This is a reminder that abstract submission for Wayne State University's C.P. Lee Endowed Graduate Student Research Presentation Day (GSRPD) IS OPEN. We encourage all BMI students to participate in this year's GSRPD event. To submit an abstract, head to the GSRPD webpage, gsrpd.med.wayne.edu, click on the tab "Abstract Submission", and click the link at the top of the page. If you would like your abstract to be considered for an oral presentation, be sure to check the box on the submission form or it won't be considered. Submission for oral presentations will end on August 31. Submission for poster presentations will end on September 14. It is important to note that abstract submission will be capped at 115 total submissions (15 oral and 100 poster), so get your abstracts in early!
â- Celebrate 150 years of Wayne State University at the fourth annual Wayne State Night at Comerica Park on September 18, 2018, 7:10 -10:00 p.m. Cheer the Detroit Tigers on to a victory over the Minnesota Twins, and show your Warrior Tiger pride with friends, family, and colleagues. Pricing starts at $17 and includes a game ticket, a Tigers/Warrior cap commemorating WSU's 150th birthday, plus a $5 donation to the Wayne State HIGH Program. â- BMI departmental retreat will be held this year on Friday, September 28th, 8-5pm, Mazurek, Rms. 306, 307, 308.
â- The Orten Lecture will be on Thursday, October 11, 2018 with speaker, Bruce A. Beutler, MD, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_Beutler, recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2011. Kendall Muzzarelli will be the lead organizer for the event. More event details to come.
