â- Welcome Md Moazzem Hossain who joined the Sebzda lab in December 2018 to manage the lab and study adaptive immune responses to improve disease outcome. He received his MD from Lugansk State Medical University, Ukraine and PhD from Tokyo Medical and Dental University, Tokyo Japan. During his PhD he studied the host immune response in parasitic disease. He did postdoctoral training in Lund University to study antibody mediated arthritis in mice. He worked in Case Western Reserve University, Evanston Northwestern Healthcare, and Wayne State University for 17 years to study the cytoskeletal function of actin binding protein calponin-2.

â- Congratulations to Dr. Gilda Hillman on the publishing of a review article on Soy Isoflavones and Radiation, a project that I have pioneered and developed over 18 years of research at WSU/KCI. This review was invited by Dr. Douglas Smith, Editor of a thematic issue in Seminars of Radiation Oncology on "Manipulations of Redox Metabolism for Enhancing Radiation Therapy Responses".

â- The Graduate School will hold the 9th annual Graduate and Postdoctoral Research Symposium (https://gradschool.wayne.edu/graduate-postdoctoral-research-symposium), Tuesday March 5, 2019, at the McGregor Memorial Conference Center and the Community Arts Auditorium.
