â- Department members, David Evans, Brian Edwards, Chandni Patel and Asmita Vaishnav along with their collaborators in France have published a paper in FEBS Journal (2019, 286; 1204-13) on the pressure-induced activation of latent dihydroorotase from Aquifex aeolicus as revealed by high pressure protein crystallography.

â- The inaugural Midwest Virology Symposium will take place October 11-13, 2019 at the Ohio State University. It will feature a truly outstanding lineup of faculty speakers and offers opportunities for posters and talks by students and fellows.

â- A total of $880 was raised for the American Heart Association's 2019 Metro Detroit Heart and Stroke Walk/Run. Thank you to Cameron and to those that helped to make this a success.

â- Applications are now open for the 2nd Annual Communicating Science Conference (ComSciCon) happening August 17 and 18, 2019! This series of workshops is designed to train and empower graduate students to communicate their research effectively to broad audiences.
