- Welcome to our new students, Sydney Brender (M.S. BMB), Nihitha Kommuri (M.S. BMB), Thamarasani Mugunamalwaththa (Ph.D. BMB), Nouha Odeh (M.S. IM), Pelumi Oladipo (Ph.D. IM) Apoorva Rao (M.S. BMB), Chirag Simaria (M.S. BMB), Savni Swant (Ph.D. BMB) and to Ravipaul Singh (IM M.S./Ph.D.) who will be continuing for his Ph.D. degree in Dr. Jeff Withey’s lab.
- To those who might be interested, on Thursday, August 4, 2022, 2:00-5:00pm, at the University of Michigan Center for Structural Biology, there will be an open house that will showcase the new X-ray equipment for the duration of the APS synchrotron upgrade. Convenient visitor parking is available adjacent to the Life Sciences Institute in the Palmer Garage. Location: Center for Structural Biology, Life Sciences Institute, Mary Sue Coleman Hall, 210 Washtenaw Avenue, Ann Arbor, MI 48109 (CSB flyer attached).
Upcoming Events:
- BMI Department Picnic will be Friday, August 26th, at Belle Isle Park, starting at 11.00 am, at Shelter 3, Belle Isle Park.
- BMI Social Committee will be coming around to labs to collect donations. Suggested donations are: $5 for students & $20 for faculty. All donations are greatly appreciated. You can also electronically donate via PayPal to Emiley Swensen (@emzi123).
- The Student Social Committee will be providing the main dish, which will be catered by Slows To Go. Alcohol is permitted but will not be provided. Sides or extra dishes to pass are more than welcome. Please see the attached flyer for details.
