•  GSRPD is back

The 24th Annual C.P. Lee Endowed Graduate Student Research Presentation Day is going virtual! Join us on Thursday, November 19, 2020 via Zoom as we celebrate another year of graduate student STEM research at Wayne State with keynote speaker Dr. Marlene Belfort of University at Albany - SUNY.

Abstract submissions open Monday, August 31st and will stay open until Friday, September 26th. Due to time limitations of a virtual format, we will feature 5 oral presentations and 20 poster rapid-fire presentations this year. As tradition, the top 7 presentations will receive monetary awards, so get out there and show us what you've got!

Keep an eye out for more details to come soon! For more information, like us on Facebook, follow us on Instagram, or visit the 2020 WSU GSRPD website. Questions can be directed to conference co-chairs, Shreya Banerjee and Madison Walton, via email at gsrpd@wayne.edu

Subject: Faculty and Staff Accessibility Training invite

** Hi Liaisons! We are running our Accessibility training series one more time before school starts at the request of several new instructors- this time we’re doing back to back days so we’ll have 3 30 minute sessions this week, kicking off tomorrow. If you haven’t joined us yet, please consider signing up! You can attend 1 or all of the sessions. If you would do a final share with your departments, we’d love to have faculty join us as well. Many thanks! Kelly**

Teaching virtually this fall? Curious about how to create more inclusive and accessible course content? Does the term “accessibility” intimidate you? Wondering how students with disabilities will engage with your online courses? If so, please join Student Disability Services for our Accessibility for All mini-series. We know time is precious as you work to adjust your courses so these are short 30 minute trainings where we will teach you simple strategies to improve accessibility and promote inclusive learning experiences for all students. The best part? We will focus primarily on programs that you already use and these techniques are either free or minimal cost to implement!

Session 1: Accessibility in Word and PowerPoint- August 25th, 1-1:30pm

Session 2: Captioning (in Zoom, Big Blue Button, Echo, & Teams), Immersive Reader, and Universal Design- August 26th, 1-1:30 pm

Session 3: Canvas Accessibility with Krystal Tosch, WSU Web Accessibility Coordinator, August 27th, 1-1:30 pm
