News: 

•  Please see the attached flyer and registration information for a free upcoming virtual symposium about       Alzheimer’s disease, which will be held on June 15. Thanks to Immunology and Microbiology Emerita Professor Judith Whittum-Hudson for sharing.  

• Congratulations to BMI Student, Kay Ekwuazi, from the Mitra Lab, for successfully defending her Master's    Thesis, "Investigating Human ZIP Transporters in the Prostate using ZupT from E.coli as a model system". 

• This year’s BMI Department Picnic will be Friday, August 27th (the Friday before classes start).  It will be at Belle Isle Park, Shelter 12, the same large shelter that was used for the 2019 picnic.  Any questions or concerns contact Jillian Green fo1050@wayne.edu or Taylor Vensko gq1369@wayne.edu. More details to come as we get closer to the event.

Events This Week:  

  This is our last BMI Seminar for Winter 2021. A BMI new faculty search is underway. There will be virtual seminars by three BMI Faculty Candidates on Thursday, 5/20, Monday, 5/24 and Thursday, 6/3. These will be exciting seminars by junior people starting their scientific careers. We hope you will continue to join us for these seminars too. The format will be the same as for our usual seminars, one zoom session for the seminar itself first attended by everyone, followed by a discussion session with students and post-docs.
