News: 

•  Congratulations to Jacob Sobota from the Yang Lab for successfully defending his M.S. thesis, "Effect of Allosteric Site Binding on the Conformational Ensemble of SMYD2"

• BMI Faculty meeting is scheduled for this week, Thursday, May 5, 2022, 11:30am, 7364 Scott Hall.   

Dr. Pellett will be sending out an Alt. Reviewing Zoom link. 

• Message to BMI Students from Madison Walton: 

▪ The BMI Graduate Student Organization (GSO) will be voting on new leadership for 2022-2023 at the 

monthly meeting this Friday, May 6th at 11:00 am in the 7th floor library. Position descriptions are attached for your review. Questions can be directed to any current GSO representative. 

▪ A student interest meeting for the new STEM outreach program will be held prior to the GSO meeting in 

the 7th floor library at 10:30 am (5/6/22). Come see what this program will look like in practice and where you fit into making it a reality! Questions can be directed to Madison Walton or Olivia Haskins

▪ Parking for Spring/Summer starts this Wednesday, 5/4/22. Be sure to renew your pass Monday or  

Tuesday to avoid any issues getting into the parking lot/structures Wednesday morning.
