BMI Weekly Newsletter

October 10, 2022

2022 BMI Retreat: This year’s departmental retreat will take place this coming Friday (Oct. 14) from 8:30-5 PM.  The purposes are to renew relationships that might have slipped away during the pandemic, to meet our new students and let them know what goes on in our laboratories, and to share our science with each other.  We will be joined by alumni from each of our graduate programs, who will share some of their experiences since completing their degrees.

The program will begin with a social gathering (pastries, coffee, etc.) at 8:30 am, while we set up posters in the Scott Hall cafeteria.  At 8:55 am, we will migrate to one of the medical lecture halls to begin the scientific program.  Around mid-morning, we will migrate back to the cafeteria for a poster session, and then into the Margherio Conference Center (connected to the far end of the cafeteria) for other presentations.  Lunch will be provided.  We will adjourn a little before 5:00 pm, after which, those who wish can head down the street for fellowship at HopCat.

  • Poster submission deadline: noon Tuesday (tomorrow; details provided last week).
  • A more detailed program will be available tomorrow.

If you have questions, please contact anyone on the planning committee. We look forward to seeing you Friday:
