  • Immunology Focus Group Seminar, Tues, November 1, 12-1pm (student meeting with speaker following)
    • Speaker: Dr. Huang Xuefei, Departments of Chemistry and Biomedical Engineering, Michigan State University
    • Title: "Development of Next Generation Carbohydrate-Based Vaccines"
      • The target of Dr. Huang’s lab is the development of an effective vaccine construct against tumor associated carbohydrate antigens (TACAs) for cancer treatment and prevention. He will present strategies in engineering virus like particle bacteriophage Qβ to significantly enhance the immunogenicity of TACAs as potential anti-cancer vaccines using ganglioside GD2 as a representative antigen, which are overexpressed on many tumor types, utilizing N-acetamide (NHAc) to enhance immunogenicity.

  • Current Trash Pick Up Procedures for Scott Hall:  During the current staffing shortage in the custodial department, if your regular custodian is out, please take your trash to the central location (near the elevators) until your custodian returns.  If you need more bags, please call the School of Medicine’s Facilities & Support Services office at 313 577-1460 and they will get some for you.
