- Congratulations to Dr. Sharon Ackerman on being selected as a recipient of the Dean's Office Award for the Kamran S. Moghissi, M.D. Endowed Faculty Award for Excellence in Basic Science Teaching.
- Congratulations to Dr. Eric Sebzda on being selected as a recipient of the Wayne State University School of Medicine’s College Teaching Award.

Presenter: Mark Hochstrasser, Ph.D., Eugene Higgins Professor of the Department of Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry, and Professor of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology, Yale University
Title: “New roles for ubiquitin in cell homeostasis and endosymbiont-host interactions”

- BMI ZOOM Seminar: Tuesday, September 17, 2024, 11:30 a.m.
Presenter: Angela Potochnik, Ph.D., Professor of Philosophy, Head of the Philosophy Department, and Director of the Center for Public Engagement with Science at the University of Cincinnati.
Her research addresses the nature of science and its successes, the relationships between science and the public, and methods in science, especially biology. She is the author of Idealization and the Aims of Science (2017) and Science and the Public (2024) and coauthor of Recipes for Science (2018, 2nd Ed. 2024), an introduction to scientific methods and reasoning.
