My research interests include studying the type of effects bacterial communities have on the female reproductive systems, specifically during pregnancy.
I am currently involved in several projects concentrated in the area of microbiome research and the effects the bacterial communities and host have on each other. I have begun to research the effect placental microbial communities have on inflammation during pregnancy. Other projects I am involved in include elucidating the distinct differences in the microbiomes of European Badgers and how that relates to chemical communication.
